Upcoming Meetings
July 2009

Overcoming Writer's Block - Varina Martindale had been writing and drawing picture books since first grade, but at age 10, when she could no longer see to draw, a visit from a writer uncle led her to the conscious decision to be a writer. That was the same age she discovered that American history was interesting, when it came in the form of stories. Now she earns money by typing other people's stories from oral history recordings, while telling her own stories in historical romances set in nineteenth-century America.

August 2009

Jeanne Cook - Writing From the Hindbrain -- How to Let Go and Let Your Characters Tell Their Stories

Many writers struggle with ideas, putting words to paper, coming up with plot twists, creating exciting characters, and working past writer's block. Learn how to make those a thing of the past by learning how to get out of your own way and let your creative hindbrain do the hard work of writing.

September 2009 Member Appreciation Dinner
October 2009 Helen Breitwieser from Cornerstone Literary
November 2009 Phoenix Police Department Homicide - Detective Lois Weiss
